Alisa Mee

Alisa has always been involved in music, but discovered the inspiring community-building aspect of music when she started playing Irish music, a tradition built on handing down tunes from player to player in community settings. Drawn to Music Together with her own children, she appreciates how MT classes build a similar community –among the adults and children who are enrolled in a given class, the people across geographic regions who share the same song repertoire, and those who take the true message of Music Together to heart and engage in family and community music-making in all its forms.
In addition to playing fiddle in weekly house sessions and in an Irish band, Ri Ra, Alisa sings in Ensemble Music’s a cappella group, Common Chord, and drums with the local drum ensemble, Drumheart.
